Fatal accident in Albert Lea involving SUV and semi-trailer

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (KTTC) – First responders were on the scene of a fatal crash involving an SUV and a semi-trailer truck.

It happened on Monday around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 13 and West Main Street in Albert Lea.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 21-year-old driver of a Peterbilt semi-trailer truck from Lamberton, Minnesota, was traveling south on Highway 13 while an 84-year-old driver of a Honda Pilot was traveling east on County Road 46 when the vehicles collided at the intersection.

An 81-year-old woman was also present in the pilot as a passenger.

The Minnesota State Patrol is expected to release more information at noon on Tuesday.
