Sean Kingston and his mother flee from reporters after fraud case

Sean Kingston and his colleagues bring humor to their latest court appearance by hilariously avoiding the paparazzi after the fraud hearing.

On Friday (August 23), Florida's Local 10 News filmed the “Beautiful Girls” singer running to his car while a reporter taunted him, joking, “Sean, it looks ridiculous running like that!”

Close on his heels was his mother, Janice Turner, who couldn't resist skipping and giving the camera a playful middle finger before jumping into her car. The duo had just left their arraignment in federal court, where they pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and wire fraud.

On May 23, Janice Turner was arrested by the SWAT team for allegedly using forged documents to purchase more than $1 million worth of luxury items, and for previously committing similar offenses. The U.S. Attorney's Office believes she and her son, Sean Kingston, were involved in a conspiracy to fraudulently obtain luxury items. The arrest was made as part of a broader investigation related to a lawsuit filed by one of Kingston's alleged victims.

“[Kingston] “He likes to wear bling, he likes to show off, he's a showman,” attorney Dennis Card told NBC Miami at the time. “My client has a $150,000 television sound system in there, about $1 million worth of watches, and an $80,000 custom bed was ordered. This is organized systematic fraud.”

“[Kingston’s] “He basically has a script, he says he's working with Justin Bieber and he's obviously putting on a big show here, this is a rental property, he doesn't own it, and he lures people with his fame to post things without him paying for them and then he just never pays,” Card added.

“He has judgments against him for buying over a million dollars worth of watches without paying for them. This is just a recurring pattern for Sean.”

According to the Associated Press, Sean was thrown into a Florida jail on June 2 after a performance in California in May. He faces a whopping 10 charges: stealing jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade and a custom-made bed valued at $80,000, defrauding banks of over $45,000, violating probation and writing bad checks.
