With the vibrant fall season upon us, the Everett Theatre, a cornerstone of the Middletown arts community, is pleased to announce a series of captivating events and performances that celebrate our shared love of film, theater and the visual arts.

Screening for the 35th anniversary of “Dead Poets Society”

We are delighted to host a special screening of Dead Poets Society on Saturday, September 7th to celebrate the 35th anniversary of this iconic film that has touched the hearts of generations. Our guests are invited to step into the world of Welton Academy and join us for an evening of both nostalgia and inspiration.

A look back at “The Dead Poets”: Dead Poets Society and its Delaware scenes live on for its 35th anniversary

Visitors have the option to purchase a film ticket alone or enhance their experience with a combination ticket that includes access to a celebratory pre-screening reception starting at 5 p.m.

Featuring memorabilia and props from the film, light appetizers, a bar, exclusive merchandise and a silent auction where you can bid on one-of-a-kind items, the reception promises to be as unforgettable as the film itself.

The fall program begins with “The Prom”

Following this celebration of cinema, we are proud to present our fall cinema season, which begins with The Prom.

“This delightful musical tells the story of Emma, ​​a high school student who just wants to take her friend to the prom, and the group of washed-up Broadway stars who rush in to save the day. “The Prom” runs Friday through Sunday, September 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m., with matinee performances on September 15 and 22 at 2 p.m.

Upcoming castings: “Anastasia: The Musical”

Looking ahead, we are pleased to announce that auditions for Anastasia: The Musical will be Monday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 5th from 6pm-9pm, with callbacks on Sunday, September 8th from 1pm-5pm.

We invite aspiring actors to audition and help bring this beloved story of mystery, adventure and romance to life on the Everett stage in December 2024.

The Gibby Art Courses in Autumn

In addition to our theater offerings, The Gibby is offering an incredible range of visual arts courses this fall.

With registration now open for 35 classes and workshops, there's something for everyone. Whether you're interested in paper quilling, watercolor galaxy painting for seniors, or mandala drawing, The Gibby's fall program offers creative opportunities for all ages.

“Nevermore: The Last Story of Edgar Allan Poe”

If you love a good crime story, come and see “Nevermore: The Final Tale of Edgar Allan Poe,” a thrilling play that delves into the mind of one of literature’s most enigmatic characters.

Running Fridays and Saturdays, October 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m., with matinee performances on Sundays, October 20 and 27 at 2:00 p.m., this production offers a chilling exploration of Poe's final days.

Everett's Annual Gala: Casino Night

Finally, we invite the community to our annual gala, an elegant and celebratory night taking place on Saturday, November 9th. This year's theme is Casino Night, with music from DJ Vic, blackjack tables, roulette, Texas Hold'em Poker, a silent auction, dessert buffet and an open bar with signature drinks and craft beer. The event promises to be an unforgettable evening of entertainment and support for The Everett.

The Everett Season Reveal

Make sure to mark Friday, October 4th at 7:30 p.m. when we will announce our lineup for the 2025 season.
