Fatal two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Gilbert

A fatal accident occurred in Gilbert on Monday evening.

According to Gilbert police, the adult driver of a Ram pickup truck was unresponsive when they arrived at the scene of the crash in the 7400 block of Highway 97 in Gilbert around 5:30 p.m. Monday evening.

Life-saving measures were taken at the scene, but police chief Ty Techar said medical personnel had confirmed the woman's death.

The adult driver of a Ford pickup truck was uninjured in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation by the Gilbert Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.

The names will be announced after the next of kin have been notified.
