Local News: GCSO Provides Update on Accident at Scheid's Diesel Extravaganza (08/26/24)

The Greene County Sheriff's Office issued an update Monday on an off-track accident that occurred Friday, Aug. 23, during the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza at Wagler Motorsports Park in Lyons.

On Friday, a 2007 Jeep Wrangler driven by 55-year-old Jolanda Hargett of Tennessee crashed into a tent off the track during the event. Three people were injured and taken to area hospitals by ambulance and helicopter.

The injured are:

• Marlin Zimmerman, 31, of Pennsylvania

• Jared Weaver, 33, of Ohio

• Joey Rank, 30, of Tennessee.

The accident is currently still being investigated.
