Bomb threat leads to evacuation of Community Medical Center in Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A bomb threat led to the partial evacuation of Community Medical Center in Toms River Monday evening, authorities confirmed.

The New Jersey State Police Bomb Disposal Squad determined that a suspected explosive device was a fake, the Ocean County Sheriff's Office said.

The bomb threat occurred in the emergency room, and several patients were evacuated, according to multiple reports.

Vehicles from the Ocean County Sheriff's Office and Toms River Police Department blocked entrances to the hospital during the investigation, according to photos released by Jersey Coast Emergency News.
