Diddy's tragic phone call to his young children from prison reveals: Rapper's children are 'in shock' as he receives more bad news about his prison stay

Sean “Diddy” Combs spoke “briefly” with his seven children while awaiting trial at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York City.

According to People, Diddy, 54, who is charged with sex trafficking and organized crime, was able to “make brief phone calls with family members and his children.”

Diddy has a total of seven children with four different women. He is the father of sons Quincy (33), Justin (30) and Christian (26) as well as daughters Chance (18), Jessie and D'Lila (17) and Love (23 months).

“He is very concerned about his children and their well-being,” the source explained.

“He has three minor children, two of whom have no living parents because he is in prison. Four of his seven children have no parents because he is in prison.”

Another source said the Combs children were “in a state of crisis and shock” following Diddy's arrest.

“It's heartbreaking to see the children in this condition. This is their father. But to them, he's not Diddy – he's daddy. He was always a loving, devoted father.”

He shares Christian, Jessie and D'Lila with the late model and actress Kim Porter, who died in 2018 at the age of 47.

Quincy was Porter's son with his partner Al B. Sure! and Combs later adopted him.

He shares Justin with stylist Misa Hylton and Chance with businesswoman Sarah Chapman.

In December 2022, he welcomed the birth of his youngest child, daughter Love, with model Dana Tran.

On Tuesday, Justin, Christian and Quincy arrived together in a New York courtroom to support their father.

Combs' three daughters and his 23-month-old baby were nowhere to be seen.

Another source told People that Diddy is not receiving special accommodations at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

“He is being treated like any other pretrial detainee. As with all public figures in his position, he was placed on suicide watch as a precautionary measure upon admission to the facility.”

Diddy was arrested last week and charged with sex trafficking, organized crime and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

The indictment, which relates to allegations dating back to 2008, accuses him of abusing, threatening and coercing women over the years “to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation and cover up his behavior.”

He has pleaded not guilty.

After his arrest, a judge denied him bail after he used his own and his mother's Miami home – valued at $50 million – as collateral.

On Wednesday, he lost his appeal against the verdict and will remain in custody until his trial.

He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

The Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset, Brooklyn, also known as MDC, is notorious for extreme violence, numerous deaths, deplorable conditions, security problems, rampant staff shortages, drug and contraband trafficking (partly carried out by prison staff), and food containing maggots – which has since been disproven.

The prison has been deemed so dangerous that some judges have refused to send other violent offenders there. Notorious inmates held there include Ghislaine Maxwell, Sam Bankman-Fried and R. Kelly.

Combs, who pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges on Tuesday, is being held in solitary confinement – far from the comfort of his $48 million mansion – and is on suicide watch.

There were two fatal stabbings this summer and another stabbing in April in which an inmate at MDC was stabbed 44 times by members of the MS-13 gang, NBC reported.

The indictment against Diddy, released this week, says federal authorities discovered more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant during raids on his Miami and Los Angeles mansions.

It is alleged that the rapper coerced and manipulated his victims into participating in day-long sexual performances that he called “freak offs.”

Diddy's accomplices allegedly drugged their victims to keep them submissive and threatened anyone who refused to cooperate. These allegations are similar to those made in a civil lawsuit filed last year by Diddy's ex-girlfriend Cassie.

These allegations were crucial to prosecutors' filing sex trafficking charges against the producer, and observers point out that authorities are increasingly expanding the law to suit their cases against powerful defendants.

In 2000, Congress passed tougher federal penalties for sex trafficking as a targeted move to break up prostitution rings and pimps. However, the charge has evolved and has been used more frequently in recent times to ensnare individuals such as Keith Raniere.

Notably, Diddy has hired the same attorney, Marc Agnifilo, who previously challenged the government's increasing use of federal sex trafficking charges in Raniere's 2019 trial, which resulted in a 120-year prison sentence.
