Victim of a stabbing in Providence dies of injuries, police search for suspect

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) — The victim of a Sept. 20 stabbing in the city has succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified the victim as 34-year-old Brian Clements.

He was stabbed to death shortly before 4 p.m. Friday at the corner of Chalkstone Avenue and Zone Street, police said.

This is the ninth reported murder in Providence in 2024.

Police said they are currently searching for a suspect, whom a spokesman identified as 28-year-old Shabree Lovett.
