Tamil Nadu: Nursing student kidnapped and sexually abused in Dindigul – Tamil Nadu News

A student in Tamil Nadu's Theni district was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a gang, police said on Monday. The student was found at a railway station.

The second-year nursing student left her hometown by bus. According to police sources, she called her father and told him that she was being followed by a woman in a black dress.

The student's phone was unreachable, so her father contacted the Theni police station.

She was later found at Dindigul railway station. There she approached the police and told them that she had been abducted almost 50 kilometers from the station, sexually assaulted and left at the station.

The student was taken to a government hospital where she is undergoing treatment. District police superintendent Pradeep visited the hospital to initiate an investigation.

Questioning the student is a challenge for the police because she reportedly suffered an epileptic seizure during the questioning.

The All Women Police has registered a case under two sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and initiated an investigation.
