Michigan man allegedly shot at car and stabbed colleague during a fit of rage

MACOMB COUNTY, MI – A Michigan man is accused of shooting and stabbing a fellow officer during a road rage incident in Macomb County.

Lequan Denelle Brown, 47, was charged with assault with intent to murder, possession of a weapon by an unliable person and illegal possession of a weapon.

Brown is accused of shooting a co-worker near Van Dyke Avenue and I-696 after both left work in separate vehicles on September 13. Later that day, both men returned to work and Brown attacked the victim with a knife.

The victim suffered severe cuts but is stable and has been released from the hospital.

“Our community does not tolerate acts of violence, whether in the workplace or on the streets,” said Macomb County Attorney Peter J. Lucido.

“This attack is a reminder that aggression and aggressive behavior on the road have no place in our society. We will hold individuals accountable for their actions to ensure the safety and well-being of all.”

Brown was arraigned in Warren's 37th District Court on September 18. Bail was set at $500,000.

A probation hearing is scheduled for October 1 at 8:45 a.m. and a preliminary examination is scheduled for October 8.
