Man arrested for allegedly dismembering 13-year-old girl’s body – Igbere TV

Ogun State Police operatives have arrested one Ogidan Mustapha for allegedly dismembering the hands of his neighbour’s dead 13-year-old child in Sagamu Local Government Area of ​​the state.

Mustapha was arrested at about 1:30 am on Friday while attempting to dump the body of the deceased near Igbosoro River in Igode village.

It was concluded that the remains of the deceased, identified as Oriyomi Adegboyega, were wrapped in a mat.

The command's spokesman, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident to journalists and said the arrest was based on intelligence from a sister security agency.

She pointed out that three other suspects were also arrested for helping dig the grave.

Odutola insisted that the mother of the deceased, Peace Adegboyega, when contacted, told the command that her daughter died of electrocution at about 10:20am on Thursday.

Adegboyega was shocked to learn that her neighbour Ogidan was found with the dismembered body of his daughter, adding that plans were in place to bury the deceased.

The spokesman added that during the search of the suspect's house, two English pump-action rifles and various local amulets were found.

Odutola said: “An intelligence source from a sister security agency has alerted the Igode District Police Officer that on September 20, 2024, at about 1:30am past midnight, they tracked a suspicious movement to a bush near Igbosoro River in Igode village and caught one Ogidan Mustapha dumping a dead body.

“Upon closer inspection, the vigilante members examined the bodies wrapped in a mat and discovered that they were the remains of a young girl whose both hands had been amputated and dumped near the river.

“After careful observation, it was discovered that the deceased was one Oriyomi Adegboyega, a 13-year-old girl.”
