Tragic accident: Speeding hits tribal students in Maharashtra

A tragic accident occurred in Palghar district of Maharashtra on Monday evening when a speeding car hit two tribal students of a local ashram school, killing one of them and seriously injuring the other, police confirmed.

The students of class 12 of the residential institute managed by the Dahanu Tribal Development Project were on foot on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway when the unfortunate incident occurred. The accident took place in the Tawa area of ​​the district.

One of the victims, Sudhir Punjara, succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the other student, Sunny Tambda, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Kasa town. Police have filed a complaint against the unidentified driver, who fled the scene after the accident.
