Supreme Court grants interim bail to actor Jayasurya, Jayasurya, sexual assault, interim bail, bailable sections, Secretariat, Thiruvananthapuram

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has dismissed actor Jayasurya's plea in connection with the sexual harassment allegations made by an Aluva-based actress. The case was dismissed as the charges against him fell under bail provisions. Currently, two sexual harassment cases are pending against Jayasurya.

According to the actress' complaint, the incident related to the case took place in 2013. Based on this, charges were filed against the actor under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code. In his application for interim bail, Jayasurya pointed out that this section allowed bail at the time of the incident. Considering his argument, the Supreme Court granted him bail.

In his application for interim bail, Jayasurya also stated that there was no shooting on the days when the alleged harassment took place. Based on the actress' complaint, a charge sheet was filed against Jayasurya alleging that he sexually harassed her during the shooting of a film at the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram. The Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Police has filed a charge sheet against Jayasurya based on the actress' complaint.
