Joko Winterscheidt receives sad message after ProSieben appearance

He is one of the best-known presenters in Germany and provides top-class entertainment with his ProSieben show “Who's stealing my show?”: Joko Winterscheidt. This is the eighth time the entertainer has hosted the show, but the question remains: how is the current season being received by viewers? After a brilliant start with stars like Nina Chuba, Kurt Krömer and Tommi Schmitt, enthusiasm seems to be waning somewhat.

The eighth round of the popular show, which has been running for a few weeks, is struggling with declining viewer numbers, according to the media magazine “DWDL”. While earlier seasons had over two million people tuned in to their screens, only 0.97 million people watched the new edition. A historic low for the format, which had to line up behind competitors such as “Grill den Henssler” – at least in terms of overall reach.

But there are also bright spots: In the classic target group, “WSMDS” remains clearly ahead with a 14.7 percent market share. ProSieben is using the show's appeal to help other formats such as “Late Night Berlin” gain more viewers. The repeat of the show attracted 260,000 viewers, significantly more than the first broadcast.

Despite these successes, prime time remains below expectations. During the day, things look even bleaker: formats such as “Crash Games” barely achieve any significant market share. The European Football League also disappoints with low ratings, which shows that football does not automatically lead to high viewer numbers.

RTL is also struggling with ratings for its NFL broadcasts. While the initial ratings are promising, the numbers collapse as the night progresses. Despite a small peak after midnight, the big success is still lacking.
