The Hallbergmoos footballers have to take things a step further after the Wasserburg drama. But they don't have time to think about it. Now they're off to Rosenheim.

Hallbergmoos – After bitter negative experiences, there is nothing better for footballers than to get back to playing as quickly as possible. VfB Hallbergmoos has a difficult task ahead of them on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. against TSV 1860 Rosenheim and no time to focus on the drama against Wasserburg.

In their most recent home game, the Hallbergmoos regional league players looked like sure winners, taking a 3-1 lead, only to lose 3-4 in the final phase despite being in the majority at times. Coach Christian Endler was still unable to explain the whole thing on Monday, even though he had slept on it for three nights. “We were really good for 72 minutes, with a lot of intensity and beautifully played goals,” said Endler. We have to take that with us to the next duel with a top team.

Retributive justice?

But let's look back again: The coach suggested that the defeat against championship favorites TSV Wasserburg might have been a measure of balancing justice in view of the past season: “We turned deficits into victories towards the end.” Now it's happened to us too.”

After finishing third last season, there is naturally hope of improving and being able to compete for promotion to the Bayernliga. But now the topic of being at the top is over for the time being. Endler also confirmed this: “It is not the order of the day to talk about the top places.” VfB is already ten points behind the new leader TuS Geretsried and does not have the stability to exploit any slip-ups by the top teams with a series of defeats. There were defeats in Schwaig and against Wasserburg. Rosenheim is now the third opponent from the quartet that has distanced itself a little from the rest of the league.

This is what the personnel situation at VfB Hallbergmoos looks like

The personnel situation is looking good ahead of the trip to Rosenheim. Ben Held is back in the team after recovering from the flu, but has to sit on the bench for now. Tobias Krause, who was absent at the weekend, is back in the starting eleven because he can make a big difference in Rosenheim with his speed. Julian Kristo has to sit on the bench again despite scoring his first regional league goal of his career. Endler emphasises, however: “He has put himself in the coaching team's mind with a good performance.” Nico Khatami was substituted at half-time against Wasserburg due to eye problems. The VfB coach still has to make a 50:50 decision between him and Naod Belachew when it comes to filling the left-back position.

The expected lineup:

VfB Hallbergmoos: Riedmüller – Y. Sassmann, Opitz, Mömkes, Belachew (Khatami) – Mayr, Schmuckermeier, M. Sassmann, Krause – Diranko, Porr.
