Police spokeswoman Sabrina Gauthier said the stabbing occurred after a conflict between a group and another man escalated.

She said police found the victim with injuries to his upper body caused by a sharp object, which led to his death early Sunday afternoon.

Police had previously stated that the victim's life was no longer in danger, but his condition worsened over the course of the day.

The officers arrested two men aged 19 and 27.
