Verdict against Elad axe terrorist postponed for scabies – Israel News

The sentencing of the two terrorists responsible for the terror attack in the central Israeli town of Elad that killed three residents has been postponed. The Israel Prison Service (IPS) claims the terrorists were infected by a scabies outbreak in the prison where they were being held, KAN News reported on Monday.

The terrorist attack in Elad occurred in 2022 after Jenin residents Assad al-Rafai (19) and Tzabahi Abu Shakir (20), who worked in Elad and knew the area, entered the city and killed three residents with an axe.

The postponement of the verdict due to an outbreak of scabies in the prison was first reported in May. The KAN report goes on to say that it is not possible to convict the terrorists under these circumstances because their presence as defendants in court is required.

Despite the ongoing war, the Lod District Court ordered the verdict but was forced to postpone the case.

The triple murder in Elad

All three victims of the terrorist attack in Elad were men in their forties. Their names are Yonatan Habakkuk, a father of five children, Boaz Gol, a father of five children, and Oren Ben Yiftach, a father of six children from Lod.

After the murder, the two terrorists evaded arrest and were chased by the police for over 48 hours until they were arrested.
