Wyllbee's funeral was marked by numerous curses as grieving family members expressed their anguish and desire for revenge against those responsible for his tragic death.

Apart from being buried with two large machetes so that he could fight his killers, his grieving family and friends uttered heavy curses expressing their anguish at the brutal manner of his murder.

Friends and family expressed their anger and grief and responded with curses at the brutal manner in which their beloved Wyllbee was “innocently” lynched.

The moment Wyllbee's father collapsed, he cursed his son's killers

Wyllbee's father, who also served as pastor and led the service, struggled to control his emotions during the sermon.

Overwhelmed by grief, he paused, reached for a bottle of water and cursed his son's murderers.

“Whoever is responsible for the death of my son, my father, my father,” he cried, raising the bottle, “may die whenever he drinks water. May he choke on it! May all the evil spirits of the world descend upon him. Just as you sent evil spirits to hunt Saul, so I call upon your word and call upon all the spirits to torment those who took my son from me.”

He continued: “When they eat or drink, it becomes poison. When I lay my son to rest today, I also bury his murderers.”

Nana Yaa's sex life cursed

In addition to hurling death wishes and curses at her, another family member also took the microphone during the funeral and directed another curse at Nana Yaa, the prime suspect in the Wyllbee murder.

She urged Wyllbee to ensure that Nana Yaa could never enjoy intimacy with another man until her death.

“Wyllbee, don't allow her to have a peaceful sex life or have sex with anyone while you're away. Make her suffer in every way,” she scolded.

Curses at the grave

As Wyllbee's remains were being transported from the burial site to the cemetery, friends and family berated Nana Yaa and her family throughout the journey.

As the coffin was lowered into the grave, they cried out for vengeance against all those associated with Nana Yaa, including her husband and his relatives.

They demanded that Wyllbee take drastic action against all those involved in his lynching.

Background:

Wyllbee was reportedly killed in Abuakwa-Tanoso in the Ashanti Region while staying at the residence of Nana Yaa Nyarko, a property said to belong to her expatriate husband's family, who were unaware of Wyllbee's presence.

According to initial reports, Wyllbee was observed urinating on the premises on July 5, 2024, and was approached by residents who suspected him of being a thief.

Wyllbee claimed he visited Nana Yaa, but she allegedly denied knowing him in order to protect her marriage from her in-laws.

This refusal led to distrust and accusations of theft among neighbors, which resulted in Wyllbee being lynched.

Wyllbee's phone was also reportedly destroyed with a rock during the incident.
