Rocket hits Givat Avni, man slightly injured by grenade splinters

According to Israeli media reports on Monday, a rocket fired from Lebanon directly hit a house in Givat Avni in the Lower Galilee.

Israeli fire and rescue teams said they arrived at the scene and turned off power sources to prevent fire from breaking out in the building.

Despite the collapse, the residents of the house were unharmed as they remained in the shelter until after the alarm was raised, the fire department added.

A The man was slightly injured by a rocket fragment near the Golani Cross and taken to the Tzafon Medical Center in Tiberias, Magen David Adom confirmed. The 50-year-old man was in good condition and fully conscious.

According to reports on other media sites, five other people were also slightly injured at the intersection.

The Golani junction is located a few kilometers from Givat Avni.

Fires in the area

The Israel Defense Forces said it had detected 35 rockets passing through Israeli territory, some of which were intercepted by air defense systems and some of which exploded in open fields.

Separately, seven firefighting teams worked to control fires that broke out in several open areas near Kibbutz Amiad in the Upper Galilee, according to Ynet.

The city of Safed reported that parts of an interceptor crashed in the Nof Kinneret district. Ynet added.

Hezbollah said its aim was to hit the Northern Corps reserve headquarters, the Galilee Division reserve base and its logistics depots at the Amiad base, as well as the Rafael Company defense industrial complexes with rockets.
