14-year-old girl sexually abused by stranger in North Lanarkshire – 'extremely traumatic ordeal' | UK news

After a 14-year-old girl was sexually abused by a stranger, a manhunt was launched.

The teenager was attacked in woodland behind Miller Street in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, at around 8pm on Friday.

police Scotland said the suspect, who was unknown to the victim, was approximately 6 feet tall and was wearing red Adidas Gazelle sneakers.

Detective Sergeant Alan Gardner said: “This was an extremely traumatic experience for the victim and it is vital that we identify and track down the man responsible.

“This happened near a relatively busy area and we ask that anyone who saw a man matching the above description or anything suspicious please contact us.”
