Olivia Munn is happy about her second child with John Mulaney after breast cancer diagnosis

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney are now proud parents of two children!

On September 22, the couple, who married in July, announced on Instagram that they had welcomed a baby girl named Méi June Mulaney via surrogate.

Munn's post included a series of photos of the parents, who also have a 2-year-old son, Malcolm Hiệp, bonding with their newborn. Munn held her daughter in the first image as she sat on Mulaney's lap at a hospital.

In another photo, Méi was seen sweetly sleeping. In a third snap, Munn cradled her daughter in her arms.

The last photo in her post shows Mulaney looking out to sea, holding Méi in his arms. Munn crouched down next to him and gave Malcolm a kiss on the cheek.

“Méi June Mulaney was born on September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon,” the actress wrote in the caption before talking about her experience with surrogacy.

“I had so many deep emotions about not being able to carry my daughter,” she continued. “When I first met our surrogate, we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much kindness and understanding that I knew I had found a true angel.”

Munn said she can't fully explain how grateful she is for her surrogate, adding that the surrogate “made our dreams come true.”

“I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon, for making the journey to be with us,” she said. “My heart exploded.”

At the end of her post, she shared that the name Méi, pronounced “May,” means “plum” in Chinese.

Mulaney also celebrated the arrival of her little daughter on Instagram.

His post included a video of him patting Méi on the shoulder as she spits on his shoulder.

“We stole so much stuff from the hospital,” the comedian joked in the caption.

He added: “I love my little girl so much.”

The couple's baby news comes after Mulaney and Munn married in July in a ceremony in New York City officiated by Munn's former “Newsroom” co-star Sam Waterston.

Earlier this year, Munn also revealed a number of health issues. In March, she shared on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

“I hope that by sharing this post, I can help others find comfort, inspiration and support on their own journey,” she said. Munn said in her post that she learned in April 2023 that she had been diagnosed with Luminal B breast cancer.

Munn underwent a series of surgeries, including “a lymph node dissection, a nipple delay (a surgical procedure that preserves the nipples) and a bilateral mastectomy,” all within 30 days, People reported in April.

Munn also told People that she underwent breast reconstruction surgery and began hormone suppression therapy, which caused her to enter medically induced menopause.

In an interview with Vogue in May, Munn revealed that she had undergone further surgeries.

“I have now had an oophorectomy and hysterectomy. My uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries were removed,” she said.

She also told the magazine that she underwent a series of egg retrievals following her cancer diagnosis in the hopes of expanding her family.

“John and I have talked about it a lot and we don't feel like we're done starting a family, but we didn't know if I would need chemotherapy or radiation,” she said.

Munn released a detailed timeline of her investigations and operations over the past year on September 4.

In the video, she said she hopes her journey to better health “helps others who have gone through the same thing or are going through it, and that maybe it gives them some comfort to know that I have been on the same path and I am OK.”
