Tragic end for UPSC candidate: Body found in Delhi forest

The decomposed body of a civil services aspirant was found hanging from a tree in a forest area in northwest Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar, police confirmed on Monday.

The body of the man, identified as Deepak Kumar Meena from Dausa in Rajasthan, was found near the library of an educational institute on September 20. Meena had been missing for several days, according to police.

A senior officer said suicide is suspected. CCTV footage has been reviewed and a detailed investigation is underway.

Meena's father, CL Meena, revealed that his son had come to Delhi in July to prepare for the UPSC main exam after clearing the preliminary exam. Meena's daily routine included daily calls home, which ended abruptly on September 10.

After not hearing from him from September 11 to 13, CL Meena travelled to Delhi only to find that his son's roommates had not seen him for two days. This led to a missing person report being filed at the Mukherjee Nagar police station.

During the search, Meena's body was found in the forest area, suggesting that he might have gone there after classes. His bag was also hanging on the tree, but no suicide note was found. The body was handed over to the family after the postmortem.
