Teenager and adult dead, 5 others in hospital after Brazoria County family home collapses

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – Two people are dead and five others were hospitalized after a manufactured home that was being razed collapsed in Brazoria County.

According to the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 5:03 p.m. in the 2000 block of County Road 49 in the Angleton area.

The sheriff's office said several family members were aligning the prefab home when it collapsed and they became trapped underneath.

First responders were able to rescue five people from under the building. Four of them were taken by helicopter to Houston-area hospitals and are currently in critical condition. Another was taken by ambulance to a hospital in stable condition.

The sheriff's office said two other people, a 17-year-old and a 31-year-old man, were killed in the collapse.

The authorities' investigations are ongoing.
