Dartmouth man faces murder charge after fatal stabbing in New Bedford

The victim, 31-year-old Kerri Fidalgo, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead, according to the district attorney.

Authorities said a Dartmouth man was arrested Saturday in connection with a fatal stabbing in New Bedford.

Tyler Dow Baglini, 31, of Dartmouth, has been charged with murder, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.

According to police, officers arrived at 86 Atlantic Street in New Bedford around 4:52 p.m. on Friday and found a woman suffering from apparent stab wounds.

The victim, 31-year-old Kerri Fidalgo, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead, according to the district attorney.

Officials said Baglini was arrested shortly after the stabbing. He was held overnight at Saint Luke's Hospital in New Bedford for a psychiatric evaluation, according to the district attorney.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in New Bedford District Court.
