1 dead after overnight shooting in Scarborough: Toronto police

Toronto police are investigating after one person was killed in an overnight shooting in the city's east end.

Police said they were responding to reports that a person had been shot near the intersection of Kingston Road and Markham Road in Scarborough shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday.

They say that police and paramedics found an injured person at the scene of the accident.

They say the victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

Police have not provided a description of the suspect or released any further details about the victim's identity.

They say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
