MPs: Woman from Marion arrested for child endangerment after argument

According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, a 37-year-old woman from the city of Marion was arrested Friday evening following a domestic incident involving a child.

After investigating the incident, officers arrested Veronica Smith of North Main Street around 10:30 p.m. Smith was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities allege she made comments during the altercation that were deemed detrimental to the child's mental well-being.

Smith was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and later held in the Wayne County Jail, where she awaited her arraignment in CAP Court on Saturday morning.
