Erie woman charged with stabbing

Perryopolis police arrested a woman Wednesday afternoon after she was accused of stabbing a man in the shoulder

Shavonna August Clanton, 21, of Erie, is charged with aggravated assault.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the 200 block of Lingan Street in Perryopolis at 12:10 p.m. Thursday after loud screams were reported coming from a home.

Clanton is accused in court records of biting Vincent Rathway on the left shoulder and then stabbing him as Rathway tried to leave the house.

Clanton was arraigned Thursday evening before District Judge Richard Kasunic, who remanded her in the Fayette County Jail on $40,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 17 at 1:25 p.m.
