Demi Lovato's Hollywood-critical documentary premiered

Actress Demi Lovato (32) directed her documentary “Child Star” together with Nicola Marsh for the first time. The production will premiere on September 17th on the streaming service Hulu. “Child Star” challenges highlight the ones she and other child stars have had to overcome during their careers. In addition to Demi, other former child stars such as Drew Barrymore (49), Christina Ricci (44) and Alyson Stoner (31) also talk about their respective experiences in the industry.

Among other things, “Child Star” addresses the highs and lows of early fame and takes a critical look at the entertainment industry of the last few decades. In an interview with People Lock Halfthat they have wanted to deal with this issue for a long time. “Child Star” is a matter close to her heart and it was particularly important to her to examine the topic from different perspectives. The documentary is a mixture of celebrity interviews, real scenes and archive material – which gives a comprehensive picture of the problem.

In addition to her career as an artist and director, Demi also speaks openly in the interview about personal challenges, such as the fear of getting older. She emphasizes that this fear has less to do with external changes, but much more with an existential fear of the passage of time. “If I think about it too much, I get scared,” she admits. The”Camp Rock-Star therefore always tries to live in the moment and concentrate on the present: “Presence is the greatest gift we can give ourselves.” This honesty is also reflected in her new documentary.
