The A3 had to be partially closed in the direction of Würzburg in order to clear the debris. According to the ADAC, this resulted in a traffic jam that was up to eight kilometers long at times.

Had a war happened? A 77-year-old Mercedes driver and his companion were traveling towards Würzburg with their caravan.

After a break in the Kohlsberg car park, the two senior citizens wanted to drive back onto the A3. The 77-year-old probably overlooked a Cupra coming from behind.

The 33-year-old driver of the Cupra tried to avoid the accident, but still crashed into the caravan, which was completely destroyed.

Fortunately, both the Cupra driver and the couple in the Mercedes were uninjured. A police spokesman confirmed this to TAG24.

Now the debris and the contents of the trailer, which were scattered across the road, had to be recovered. A crane finally lifted the wreckage of the trailer off the road.

Both cars were also no longer drivable and were towed away.

The fire brigades of the surrounding towns were in charge of clearing away the rubble, and this also meant closing the A3 except for the left lane for about an hour.

According to initial estimates, the material damage caused amounts to 30,000 to 40,000 euros, according to the police spokesman.
