Serious knife attack in Nienburg: Police arrest suspect

A man's life is in danger after a knife attack at the train station in Nienburg. The police have arrested a suspect.

Nienburg – A man was seriously injured in a knife attack in Nienburg on Friday evening, September 20. Police say they have already arrested a suspect. According to reports, the attack was preceded by an argument between several people.

Knife attack at Nienburg train station – man seriously injured

Just a few days ago there was a knife attack in Bremen. Now it has happened in Nienburg too. At around 7:43 p.m. on Friday evening, the Nienburg police were alerted by the Nienburg/Schaumburg Integrated Regional Control Center due to a conflict involving several people at Nienburg Central Station. It was reported that a man may have been seriously injured with a knife as a result of this altercation and that the attacker had fled.

The police immediately dispatched all available emergency services from Nienburg, Hoya and Stolzenau. When they arrived at the scene, a man from the Nienburg district was already receiving medical treatment from the emergency services. The 34-year-old was taken to hospital without delay. After an emergency operation, his condition was reported to be stable.

Nienburg police arrest suspect after knife attack

Specialists from the forensic department were also on site to search for and secure evidence. After intensive and extensive investigations, the Nienburg police were able to temporarily arrest a man at around 1:20 a.m. who is strongly suspected of having attacked the 34-year-old with a knife. The investigations, which are being led by the inspection's department 1, are still ongoing.
