Austin Police released a timeline of events:

On July 14, a 911 call was received reporting shots fired in the area of ​​Fiesta Street and Lyons Road.

When officers arrived, they were unable to determine the source of the reported shots fired. Officers were not contacted by any victims and the caller had no further information.

On July 15, officers responded to another report of shots fired in the area of ​​Fiesta Street and Lyons Road. Officers identified a victim who lived in the home and a report of deadly conduct was taken.

On July 16, the victim reported another incident. At that time, the victim stated that three fatal acts had been committed.

The shootings all occurred in the late night or early morning hours.

During the course of the investigation, three more fatal crimes were committed between August 8 and 10.

On August 30th at around 7:50 a.m., another fatal incident occurred. Shortly thereafter, investigators were able to identify a suspicious person and a possibly suspicious vehicle.

On September 6, arrest warrants were issued for 24-year-old Oscar Casillas. He was arrested at his home in Austin on September 17.

This case remains under investigation by the Aggravated Assault Unit and the Gang Crimes Unit of the Austin Police Department.
