Sean “Diddy” Combs is “desperate” to talk to his children while on suicide watch in Brooklyn jail: “They're trying…”

Sean “Diddy” Combs finds himself in a difficult situation: he is locked up in the special quarters of a “barbaric” Brooklyn prison notorious for its tragic incidents. Despite the harsh conditions, Diddy's biggest concern is reportedly his seven children, who are struggling to adjust to his absence.

Sources close to the family say Diddy is doing his best to stay positive and strong, but the situation is taking its toll on him and his loved ones. The music mogul was recently placed on “suicide watch” while he awaits trial at the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Diddy really wants to talk to children

According to TMZ, the 54-year-old disgraced rapper, who is currently facing charges of sex trafficking, organized crime and solicitation for the purpose of prostitution, is “doing well” but is worried about his children. A source close to Diddy's family told the paper that he is eager to speak to his children.

“The people closest to him are trying to process the situation… but they all know they have to be strong for the sake of the children,” they added.

Diddy's family supports each other

The insider also revealed that Diddy's family, which includes his seven children – Quincy (whom the rapper adopted during his relationship with late partner Kim Porter), Justin, Christian “King,” Chance (all three are adults), twins D'Lila and Jessie, and two-year-old Love – are supporting each other and drawing strength from faith as they try to process the situation following their father's shocking arrest earlier this week.

According to the source, the 17-year-old twins are staying with a friend of their late mother Kim in Los Angeles amid uncertainty over Diddy's bail, which was denied twice. He was sent back to MDC on Tuesday, September 17, after pleading not guilty.

“Treasure trove” of evidence against Diddy

Legal experts are warning that Sean “Diddy” Combs' sex trafficking case could end up worse than that of Keith Raniere, the man who ran the sex cult Nxivm and is now serving a lengthy prison sentence. Federal prosecutors have reportedly discovered a “treasure trove” of evidence, including videos of Diddy's alleged “freak offs,” that could be used against him. Those videos reportedly show drugged victims engaging in sexual acts with male prostitutes as part of the day-long sessions.

Sean “Diddy” Combs under observation due to suicide risk

On September 20, a suicide watch was placed on the hip-hop artist, who has faced numerous charges and lawsuits since last year for sexual harassment and assault by his longtime partner Cassie Ventura.

The U.S. Department of Justice's National Institute of Corrections defines suicide watch as a process that involves “supervision measures for inmates at risk for self-harm that require frequent observation.” While it's unclear whether Sean “Diddy” Combs is suicidal or how long he's been on suicide watch, sources tell PEOPLE the measure is precautionary because Combs is reportedly in shock and his mental state is uncertain.
