31-year-old woman stabbed to death in New Bedford home

A 31-year-old woman died after being stabbed to death in a New Bedford home Friday afternoon, the office of Bristol District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said.

Police arrived at 86 Atlantic Street at 4:52 p.m. for a stabbing, Quinn's office said in a statement. When officers arrived, they found the woman with apparent stab wounds and administered first aid.

She was taken to Saint Luke's Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The investigation is “extremely intensive,” the statement said.
