New ProSieben show with Kaulitz brothers is a flop

Despite the promising title, the concept of the ProSieben show “The Superduper Show” failed to captivate viewers. In the show, hosted by Katrin Bauerfeind, celebrities such as Bill and Tom Kaulitz, Edin Hasanovic, Wigald Boning and Annette Frier were supposed to develop and implement entertaining show ideas inspired by children. But the premiere on Tuesday evening at prime time failed to meet expectations, which led to disappointing ratings. In response, ProSieben is withdrawing the show from the program for the time being.

Four issues were actually planned

Four episodes of the “Superduper Show” were actually planned. As the industry magazine “DWDL” reports, ProSieben is now changing its program schedule and will show feature films instead of the show on the next three Tuesdays. The format is to be given a new chance, however. ProSieben spokesman Christoph Körfer told “DWDL” that the show “unfortunately did not find its audience” on Tuesday evening. But: “We still believe in the show's potential and will bring it back to a time slot in 2025 that makes it easier to watch the show.”

Only a little less than half a million people tuned in to the first edition of the “Superduper Show”. ProSieben’s market share is a very weak 2.3 percent. Even in the “advertising-relevant” young target group of 14 to 49-year-olds, the market share was only 5.7 percent.
