“Marvel almost fired me 36 damn times”

Being part of two of the biggest superhero franchises of all time comes with its pros and cons. Actors filming highly anticipated movies are often advised to keep their mouths shut. Before the premiere, during interviews and promotions, it is recommended that they reveal only limited information about their upcoming role or the film's plot.

Tom Holland became a notorious example of accidental spoilers. Spider Man The actor suffered from the indecent lips syndrome, which often caused him to reveal confidential information about a new film. In a hilarious statement, fellow Marvel actor and later DC actor Frank Grillo claimed he wanted to avoid similar circumstances. The actor has been very reserved with his statements about his upcoming film, citing caution.

Frank Grillo joined the MCU as Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones. The actor first appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and a year later in Captain America: Civil War. He also reprised his role in the 2019 film, Avengers: Endgamewhich became his last venture.

The actor finally announced his move to the other side and joined the DC Universe. Grillo is cast as the voice actor for Rick Flag Sr. in the animated series Creature CommandsThe actor is also set to appear in an upcoming Superman Film.

When asked about his role in the new series, the actor was hesitant and reserved, telling ComicBook that revealing too much information almost cost him his job at Marvel.

I'm so bad at it. Marvel almost fired me 36 fucking times for not knowing. I never want to lie. And so I do it a little too often.

The actor hilariously revealed that he had a habit of accidentally giving away spoilers, for which he was reprimanded. Now, with a bright future ahead of him in another superhero universe, Grillo wanted to make sure he didn't repeat the same mistakes.

The DC Universe may have been spared the risks of talkative actors, but its competition has not. The MCU has had its fair share of risky characters who give too much away before their films.

Tom Holland is a prime example of this. The Spider-Man: No Way Home Blei was a walking threat for accidental revelations. The actor often revealed details about as-yet-unreleased films when answering interview questions.

However, he was not the only one who could be accused of taking his openness too far. His co-star Mark Ruffalo, who played Bruce Banner, also known as the Hulk, also suffered from the same disease. On many occasions, Ruffalo shared crucial plot details with the public.

With Grillo being a part of the earlier films, the franchise has had to deal with a lot of unspoken statements. Thankfully, the actor has taken past experiences as a warning and is now extra cautious when it comes to talking about his roles.
