One hundred cyclists in Halfmoon start the annual ride for missing children

One hundred cyclists met at the Impact Athletic Center in Halfmoon on Friday morning to start the annual Ride for Missing Children.

One hundred cyclists met at the Impact Athletic Center in Halfmoon on Friday morning to start the annual Ride for Missing Children.

The ride is intended to raise awareness of missing children. Cyclists ride through Saratoga County and stop at schools.

The tradition began 30 years ago. Riders will stop by schools along the way to talk to the children, take photos and sign jerseys. Participants will also stop by other schools to teach students about child safety and kidnapping prevention.

This is one of the most important tasks of the entire year, the drivers said.
