Behavior Interactive stops work

Originally launched in 2016, Dead by Daylight is still very popular. In 2018, the game was sold to the current head of Behavior Interactive for 14 million euros. New events will keep new players excited and regular players interested. A crossover with Castlevania was recently announced. The game's heroine Lara Croft has also appeared as a survivor in the horror universe.

But the title is not only being expanded with new characters. At the beginning of the year, a new game mode was tested. In order to make the franchise itself better known, the brand as a whole is also to be built up. In March 2023, it was announced that a film was in the works. A spin-off game, The Casting of Frank Stone, was also released at the beginning of September. However, the story adventure about a group of friends in the small town of Cedar Hills was not entirely convincing. To implement the idea, Supermassive Games was brought on board, who already have experience in this genre with their Dark Pictures series. Nevertheless, the title only has a balanced rating on Steam.

Behavior had another game in the Dead by Daylight franchise in the works. This was previously known only as Project T. In a post on X, the developers now announce that the unfinished game is being discontinued while still in development. One possible reason for this could be the continued success of Frank Stone. The studio itself stated that the decision was made after a playtest in July. The feedback showed that a continuation would not have made sense either in terms of the product itself or from a commercial point of view. Not much was known about the content of the game at the time of discontinuation. It was supposed to be a PvE shooter for squads of four players.
