The six children were hit by a car on their way to school early in the morning, causing serious trauma for many of them, especially their families.

Kitui children hit by Toyota Probox

It was discovered that three of the six children who died at Wiitu Shopping Centre after being hit by a Toyota Probox belonged to the same family.

“A mass burial is currently underway for six children killed in a grisly road accident in Kyoani, Kitui South. Several politicians from Kitui County were in attendance.

Rest in peace, young souls,” read the heartbreaking caption of one post.

Accompanying the post, several photos were shared showing the emotional funeral ceremony.

Six coffins on the red carpet in Kitui

Six coffins were laid on a red carpet under a tent that protected the wooden coffins from direct sunlight.

In each coffin there were also flowers of the same design, color and production.

Several police cars could be seen in the background and other private cars were parked at the venue.

There was also another tent where the guests sat and silently watched the passing of the precious souls.

Kenyans send condolences to the Kitui families

Social media users wrote emotional messages in the comments section, joining many others in their grief for the little ones.

Family of four buried in Kisawo village

According to another story, Moses Ssemwogerere, his wife Rebecca Arinaitwe and their two children had been living abroad since 2007.

They had planned to return home for the first time in December, but that never happened.

The four were buried together in an emotional ceremony in the village of Kisawo, with their entire household wiped out.
