Book tip Nadine Heemann “The big short” by Michael Lewis • News • onvista

I experienced the Lehman crash, also the bankruptcy of the US investment bank Lehman Brothers, live on the trading floor in 2008 as an employee of Lehman. I also had to buy this book. “The Big Short” deals with the events on the capital market before, during and after the real estate bubble and the resulting Lehman crash.

The author has meticulously collected a lot of exciting insider information from investment banks and hedge funds and presented it in an understandable way. The characters portrayed are sometimes funny, absurd and fascinating: but all real. Everything is based on facts. Michael Lewis explains things incredibly well and is understandable even for laypeople. A mixture of crime and non-fiction.

Why do I recommend this book to everyone? It shows how much reflection and observation can bring. Simply observing and questioning what is happening around us and drawing conclusions for investments. In my opinion, it also provides easy-to-understand insights into the subject of investment banking.
