Suspect sought after alleged sexual assault on Durham bus

Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly groped a female victim on a Durham Region Transit bus last week.

On September 12 at approximately 4:45 p.m., according to police, the victim left Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario and boarded a nearby bus. The suspect also left the college and boarded the same bus.

Police said the suspect sat next to the victim and tried to talk to her. When she got off the bus, the suspect groped her, police said.

The victim left the bus and called the police.

To facilitate his identification, police released two surveillance images of the suspect on Thursday.

The police describe him as 20 to 30 years old, about 1.73 meters tall, of medium build, with a black beard and black turban. At the time of the alleged attack he was wearing a white T-shirt, dark jeans and a black backpack.
