Two-year-old boy dies when TV falls on him in Wigan house

A two-year-old boy died when a television fell in his house. It was probably a “tragic accident,” police said.

Carter Walsh was taken to hospital after sustaining his injuries in Fisher Close, Wigan, at around 2.15pm BST on Thursday, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

He later died despite medical treatment.

A GMP spokesman said the circumstances were still being investigated but it was believed to be “a tragic accident with no suspicious circumstances”.

It is believed that the television came loose before it fell and that a chimney was also involved.

A Gofundme page has raised more than £1,000 in memory of the toddler.
