Raiders TE Brock Bowers from the locker room

The Las Vegas Raiders (1-1) are back home in the desert heat to host the Carolina Panthers (0-2) this weekend in the air-conditioned and comfortable Allegiant Stadium.

The Raiders will look to turn their surprise win over the Baltimore Ravens this weekend into a winning streak as the underdog Panthers come to town.

Rising superstar TE Brock Bowers of the Las Vegas Raiders spoke from the locker room this weekend before their game against the Carolina Panthers, and we've got what he had to say.

You can watch the entire press conference below:

Below is the transcript of Gardner Minshew's press conference on Wednesday.

Q: What is your relationship with Brock Bowers and how have you seen his development on and off the field?

Minshew II: “Yeah, man. I have to be honest, with Brock [Bowers]he was pretty good the day he showed up. The guy was making plays from day one. So, I mean, getting him in game situations, getting the trust in him, was really easy. He earned it all the time and it's really cool to have a guy like that on your team.”

Q: What impressed you most about Brock Bowers on the field and his skills?

Minshew II: “He wins the man game, has a feel for the zone and is very powerful on catch-and-run plays. I was impressed with how much power he had on some of his first-down catches. G gets up and fired up. That was great to see.”

Q: You've played for some teams that have had a good home-field advantage. What do you expect when you first go to a regular-season game at Allegiant Stadium?

Minshew: “I'm so excited to come home. Home opener. Everyone says we're going to have a great crowd, man. I'm ready to hear it, ready to see it, ready to feel it. It means a lot to us and we want to make it one of those places. We want to make our home stadium a real home stadium and something we love to come back to. And it's up to us to make it that way.”

Q: We asked Davante Adams, Antonio Pierce and the captains if they wanted to get the message across, if it was even necessary, that this week's Carolina Panthers are going to be last week's Las Vegas Raiders. Nobody expected you all to win. Nobody expected you to win. Do you have to go into it with that mindset?

Minshew: “Yeah, absolutely. I mean, you have to earn it every week. There are no free passes in this league. It doesn't matter who you are, in this league, everyone is good. In this league, anyone can win. So we have to have a great week of practice, we have to be there and do our best no matter what.”

Q: After two weeks, you are second in the league in passing distance. What does it mean to you when you hear that?

Minshew: “Nothing really. I wish we were 2-0.”

Q: What does this mean for the team’s offensive success?

Minshew: “I don't know, we should probably run the ball a little more.”

Q: You've also been completing a high percentage of your passes. And you talked during training camp about wanting to be a point guard-type quarterback. Is that kind of a byproduct of throwing the ball around and making that happen?

Minshew: “I think so, man. We saw some kind of softer zone coverage. They kept everything under control. I think we did better last game when we had our one-on-one situations and got shots going forward. But I think the biggest thing, especially when they're running and hitting that way, is you've got to keep it on track; keep us on second-and-7 or better, and then third-and-5 or better. I think keeping us on manageable downs is really important to our success.”

Q: How important was Maxx Crosby’s pep talk after the pass was intercepted?

Minshew: “No, it's great, man. He grabbed me and just said, 'Hey, we're behind you, buddy. We need that Washington State Gardner [Minshew]. We need that.' And I was like, 'Man, you're right, dude. Let's see if I can get this done quick.' But no, man, that guy is a great leader. He does it right, man, and I couldn't be more thankful to have him on our team.”

Q: There have been a lot of changes in your offense and there is a rhythm that we have all seen. How are you going to address that in the next game?

Minshew: “Yeah, I think it's just about consistency. I think there are a lot of things we did well and we just got into the flow quicker. We found the confidence quicker. In both games it took way too long. I think we just have to understand that if we focus on our details, we have that. We just have to have that from the start.”

Q: What changed for you in the fourth quarter? Obviously things started to improve for you. What did you do?

Minshew: “I don't know, man. I mean, you call the same plays, we had the same guys out there. I think it's just because everyone's on the same wavelength. I put a lot of trust in those receivers and they repaid me. I think that was a big part of it. The line held and we blocked really well down the stretch. I think everyone just took their game to the next level and that's what's needed.”
