Gujarat: 6-year-old girl found dead on school premises

Dahod (Gujarat), September 20 (IANS): The body of a six-year-old girl, a first-grader, was found on the premises of her school in Dahod district of Gujarat.

The girl, a resident of Pipaliya village in Singvad taluka, had gone to Torani Primary School as usual but did not return home after school ended. The worried family started searching for her and late on Thursday evening, she was found unconscious behind the school. She was immediately rushed to Limkheda Referral Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

Initial investigations point to a crime, possibly a brutal murder.

Given the gravity of the situation, Dahod SP and police teams, including the local CID, arrived at the school on Friday and began a thorough investigation. The school's principal and teachers have been questioned and efforts are on to shift the girl's body to Zydus Hospital in Dahod where a forensic post-mortem will be conducted.

Authorities expect that once the autopsy report is released, further details will emerge that will shed light on the exact cause of death and the events that led to this tragic outcome.

In another case, hotel management student Iya Das from Mallick Gunpara in Suri, Birbhum district of West Bengal died under mysterious circumstances in Gujarat. Her family is now demanding a thorough investigation to unravel the truth behind her death.

On September 12, the family received a call from the private Hotel Management Institute in Gujarat informing them that their daughter had allegedly committed suicide. Iya enrolled at the institute in February 2024 to pursue a career in hotel management.
