“It’s really worrying” – Paul Merson revises his prediction for West Ham vs Chelsea

Match predictions are a game of chance, we all know that. But there is one person who seems to be better than most and I will always look to him for predictions and that is Paul Merson.

This is especially true when it comes to Chelsea, as Paul, as a Blues fan, watches a lot of Chelsea and also writes and reports a lot about the Blues in his job.

EXCL: Inside story of a Chelsea player who was determined to join Crystal Palace in the summer, but Chelsea have changed the rules of the game…

So when Paul gives his predictions for the Chelsea game, I always like to tune in and hear what he says.

It's not good news for Chelsea fans this week though and Paul is a little concerned after Chelsea narrowly missed out on beating Bournemouth last Saturday, with Christopher Nkunku scoring the last-minute winner and Robert Sanchez's performance earning him the man of the match award.

Merson predicts a draw

Merson believes Sancho will be in the starting eleven

In his latest article for Sportskeeda, Merson wrote:

“I say the same thing about Chelsea every week: we simply don’t know what to expect from them.

“They beat Bournemouth 1-0 in the last game but goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was man of the match in my opinion. And when you're Chelsea, that's actually worrying. I think this game will end in a draw.”

“It wouldn't surprise me if Jadon Sancho starts against West Ham, though. He played very well against Bournemouth and made the right decisions with the ball at the right time.

“It's definitely a good start for him at Chelsea, but making an impression as a substitute is a completely different thing to doing so from the start of a game.”
