Gang war in Rohtak: Three youths murdered while sitting in front of a liquor shop | Nation

Gang war in Rohtak: In a shocking incident late last night, five persons were shot at a liquor stall near Baliana Mor on Sonepat Road, leaving three youth dead on the spot while two others are in critical condition. The shooting has sent shockwaves in the local community, particularly in Bohar village.

According to police reports, the attack was carried out by eight assailants on three motorcycles who were planning to attack a group of five youths sitting at the booth. The victims, identified as Jaideep, Amit Nandal and Vinay, were declared dead on arrival at PGI after rescue workers brought them there. The other two victims, Anuj and Manoj, are currently undergoing treatment for critical injuries.

Superintendent of Police Himanshu Garg along with other officials arrived at the scene soon after the incident was reported. Initial investigations suggest that the shooting is linked to an ongoing gang rivalry. The Rahul Baba Gang has claimed responsibility for the incident on social media. This gang conflict has created concern and panic among the local population.

Witnesses said that the victims, residents of Bohar village, were enjoying their evening when the attackers opened fire indiscriminately. The incident is believed to be linked to a previous feud; more specifically, a shooting incident that occurred in 2019 in a court involving a youth from Bohar village, Plotra, who is currently in prison for the crime.

SP Garg confirmed that the police are conducting a thorough investigation and stressed that there is a need to understand the motive behind this act of violence. “We have received information about the liquor shop shootout in which three people were killed and two were seriously injured. The police are investigating the matter with great diligence,” he stated.

Satish Kadayan, head of the Second Criminal Investigation Department, reiterated that the violence was due to gang activities and assured the public that the police were following up on all leads. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem and additional police force has been deployed in Bohar to maintain order and pacify the public.

While the investigation continues, local authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward to help bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent further violence.
