Actress Tina Ruland has been having fun in reality TV for several years now. But this new format from ProSieben has now pushed her to her limits.

Berlin – The new TV format “Destination X” will be launched on ProSieben in the fall. In the reality TV show, stars tour across Europe in an opaque bus, sometimes for up to 14 hours a day, and have to complete games in selected locations. Actress Tina Ruland (57, “Manta, Manta”) was also on board. The 2022 jungle camp participant explained before the broadcast why the show was getting to her.

Actress Tina Ruland: “You have to be mentally stable”

“It was harder than the jungle camp!” reveals Tina Ruland in an interview with PICTURE. “You get normal, delicious food, but you can't get out of the bus. You sleep much more cramped than in the jungle.” It was precisely this claustrophobic confinement that seemed to be the biggest challenge for the participants. Ruland even slept “in the aisle” next to former GZSZ star Andreas Elsholz (52). “We could have held hands, it's that cramped.” You have to be mentally stable for that.”

During the games, care was also taken to ensure that no one knew where you were at any given moment. “You stop and are transported blindly using VR glasses so that you can't see where you are,” reports Ruland. “Then some kind of game is set up somewhere in a landscape.” At the end of each episode, the candidates have to guess where they are. Anyone who is wrong is eliminated.

However, Tina Ruland also had a lot of fun during filming. “The jungle wasn't that funny,” admits the 57-year-old. “It's not about driving other people crazy.” Most people go to the jungle camp these days to get noticed, then they get airtime. If you're nice, nobody cares.” The other travelers are also less known for trash and trouble. Among others, “Let's Dance” pro Ekaterina Leonova (37), presenter Madita von Hülsen (43), gymnast Philipp Boy (37) and ex-jungle camper Leyla Lahouar (28) were also on the road trip through Europe.

One lure for participation is likely to be the prize money of 50,000 euros. Years ago, Tina Ruland openly admitted that she takes part in reality TV formats primarily for the money. “I definitely don't have to go to the jungle camp to discover my limits, I have really tested them sufficiently as a single mother of two sons and after 30 years in the acting business,” Ruland said in 2022 in the COLORFUL-Interview.
