Teenager robbed of $1,000 Lanvin sneakers at gunpoint at Maryland school bus stop

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Maryland. – Two teenagers are said to have been the victims of an armed robbery at a school bus stop in Maryland over a pair of luxury shoes.

FOX 5's Melanie Alnwick was on the scene and said it appears there were at least four students at the bus stop when an armed suspect demanded that one of them hand over his shoes.

Alnwick says A shot was fired at a school bus stop in Prince George's County during a possible robbery over a pair of shoes. The shoes in question were a pair of Lanvin sneakers, a popular luxury sneaker brand.

The retail price of the French luxury sneakers is over $1,000, depending on the style and type.

The incident was reported just before 7 a.m. at a bus stop in the 15900 block of Livingston Road in Accokeek. Reports say a vehicle pulled up to the bus stop and someone got out and demanded the boys give them their shoes. The suspect fired one shot, causing everyone to scatter and run back to their homes.

According to the victims' mother, her son and another child were wearing the same sneakers, but her son had to hand over his shoes while the other child was allowed to keep his.

“The shoes are quite expensive and he had to work to get the shoes.”

The sneakers have become very popular shoes in the fashion industry, especially in the streetwear sector. Several celebrities have been seen wearing these expensive sneakers, including Nicki Minaj, David Beckham, Travis Scott and many others.
