Stefan Raab is back and is bringing joy to his new channel. Apparently his comeback has caused subscription numbers at RTL+ to rise considerably.

After the TV comeback of entertainer Stefan Raab, 57, and the first edition of his new show “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million”, RTL has given itself reason to celebrate. As the Cologne broadcaster announced in a press release on Thursday (September 19), the Raab show on Wednesday evening, which has so far only been shown on RTL+, led to a significant increase in subscriptions to the broadcaster's own streaming service. 73 percent of the subscriptions were sold to new customers, the rest to returning subscribers. The broadcaster did not disclose how many new subscriptions were signed for RTL+.

“We are looking forward to at least five years together”

That is exactly what she had expected, said RTL programming director Inga Leschek in a statement. “Stefan showed once again yesterday that he is an exceptional artist. Whether he is making his audience laugh with his 'Meme Pad', shaking things up with the new Heavytones 'Pa aufs Maul' or 'Alles aus Liebe', grilling with quiz questions or – alongside his buddy Elton – playing against candidates with unbridled ambition: this combination is unique. It feels as if Stefan Raab has never been away and as if he has always been part of the RTL family. We are looking forward to at least five years together.

On Saturday evening (September 14), Raab's much-heralded TV comeback on “The Clark Final Fight” attracted almost eight million viewers to their televisions. In addition, his new song “Pa aufs Maul” subsequently made it to the top of the charts.

“You won't win the million here with Stefan Raab” turned out to be a mixture of “TV total” and “Beat Raab” in the premiere. At the beginning there was a comedy intro lasting around half an hour, in which Raab, in his usual manner, took aim at his boxing opponent Regina Halmich, 47, and other celebrities. Then the game part begins, in which the candidates have the chance to win a million euros. To do so, they have to compete against Raab in quizzes and competitions. The show runs every Wednesday from 8:10 p.m. on RTL+.
