Prince Harry has announced his arrival at the end of September. The Duke will attend the “WellChild Awards” in London and could combine his trip with a meeting with King Charles and Prince William.

London – Prince Harry (40) will return to the United Kingdom this month to attend the “WellChild Awards” – as he has done regularly in recent years. The Duke is patron of the charity that helps seriously ill children and their families. According to the latest developments in the royal family, this time there could also be a meeting with his father, King Charles (75), and perhaps even with Prince William (42).

Prince Harry could meet the royal family during his visit to London

After there was no family reunion during his last visit in May, the conditions for a meeting are now much better. Both King Charles and his wife Camilla (77) as well as Prince William and Princess Kate (42) surprisingly congratulated Prince Henry on his 40th birthday (September 15) on public social media channels.

In a statement from WellChild, it was confirmed that Harry will attend the “WellChild Awards”, which took place on September 30th. At the event, the Duke of Sussex will meet the winners in a pre-ceremony service before joining them for the awards ceremony. In recent years, Prince Harry has travelled to the awards without his wife Meghan Markle (43).

Prince Harry's continued commitment to children could also impress King Charles

The father of two regularly attends the awards and this year is the twelfth time he has attended the charity's event. Children have always been a topic for him. There is also now a very personal connection: When Prince Harry was in the UK for the British awards ceremony in 2022, he received the sad news of the death of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022).

In his speech to the charity in 2023, Harry reflected on the death of the late Queen, saying: “As you know, I was unable to attend the awards ceremony last year as my grandmother passed away.” In the silence that followed, Harry continued: “As you probably also know, she would have been the first to insist that I come to you anyway rather than go to her, and that is precisely why I know that exactly one year later she is looking down on all of us.” The Duke of Sussex has become an award-winning speaker. Harry's closing words that he was happy to continue to shine the spotlight on such an incredible community were quickly drowned out by applause.

The Duke had already found loving words in the announcement of his participation for 2024: “I am once again honoured to take part in this year's WellChild Awards, which celebrate the remarkable courage and achievements of children with complex medical needs. These incredible young people inspire us all, along with the dedicated carers, nurses and professionals who tirelessly support them. It is a true privilege to recognise such extraordinary individuals.”

The importance of children to Harry can also be seen in his words on the occasion of his 40th birthday, when he declared that his children were the best gift he had ever received. If King Charles feels the same way, royal fans might even be hoping for the monarch to appear at the church service at the end of September.
