Not a single gospel musician looked after me when I was injured – Sonnie Badu painfully remembers

US-based Ghanaian pastor and gospel musician Sonnie Badu has spoken out about the neglect he experienced from his fellow gospel musicians following a domestic accident in December 2023.

Sonnie Badu had to undergo surgery after injuring his foot while cleaning and watering when he slipped on the steps between the garden and the metal railing. He described the incident as life-threatening.

Despite his condition, Sonnie Badu, who had not yet fully recovered, was seen at his Rhythms of Africa concert in Accra.

This even led to claims on social media that he was only faking it and that his condition was not as serious as he claimed.

In a recent interview with Joy Prime, the founder of Rockhill Chapel reflected on his experience and lamented that not a single gospel musician cared for him during his ordeal.

“Not a single person was checking on me. When I realized that not even a single fellow gospel artist or pastor was checking on me, I said even if I die, nobody cares; I have to get up quickly,” he explained.

He added that he would have made the effort to check on the others if the roles had been reversed.

“If I personally heard that someone had been through something or seen something, I would have called. I don't care if I agree with you or not. But not a single person has done that,” Sonnie Badu explained.

He, however, noted that some pastors including Pastor Jerry Eze, Prophet Agyemang Prempeh of the Ultimate Charismatic Centre, Apostle Amoako Atta of the Lord's Parliament Chapel International and Pastor Kingsley showed their love to him by contacting him through some social media platforms.

Sonnie Badu also thanked God for his healing grace, adding that the fall initially targeted his head but then shifted to his leg, which could have resulted in death.
